LensCrafted

Hi, I’m Shawn, the photographer behind LensCrafted. I’ve always been drawn to photography because of what it holds onto. To me, photos aren’t about perfect poses or temporary internet trends; they are about collecting honest, unfiltered memories across New England and New York City that you can return to years later and still feel deeply.

My approach is simple: I shoot from a photojournalistic perspective. Whether we are navigating the busy energy of NYC or capturing a quiet outdoor celebration in New England, my goal is to let you be entirely yourself while I handle the rest.

The Kodak Era

My obsession with capturing moments began with disposable Kodak cameras. I carried them everywhere, learning early on that the best photos were always the unplanned ones shot in the middle of everyday life.

The 90's

The Digital Shift

I picked up my very first digital camera in 1999 and never really put it down. This marked the start of my continuous deep dive into camera mechanics, lighting, and composition.

1999

College Years: The Photojournalist Foundation

Working as a college photojournalist completely shaped my artistic identity. It taught me to anticipate emotion, adapt instantly to changing environments, and document real, unscripted moments.

The Launch of LensCrafted

I combined my photojournalistic background with personal story-telling to build LensCrafted. My focus shifted to serving couples, individuals, and businesses who want authentic, natural imagery across New England and NYC.

Today: Timeless Visual Storytelling

From weddings and intimate boudoir sessions to high-impact branding and lifestyle shoots, I continue to capture real life in a way that feels honest, relaxed, and timeless.

From the first conversation to the final images, everything felt thoughtful and calm. I never once felt rushed or awkward. The photos captured moments I didn't even realize were happening.
