Welcome to LensCrafted (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Shawn and accessible at getlenscrafted.com. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, booking system, online payment tools, and all photography services provided across New England and New York City.
By accessing our website, placing a paid booking, submitting a retainer, or signing a photography contract with LensCrafted, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or book our services.
LensCrafted provides professional photography services, including Weddings & Events, Portrait Sessions, Boudoir Photography, Headshots & Branding, and Lifestyle & Creative projects. Specific deliverables, hours of coverage, location details, and pricing for your session will be outlined in your individual service quote, booking confirmation, or written photographic contract.
To secure a specific date and time on our calendar, a non-refundable retainer (or booking deposit) is required at the time of booking.
Weddings & Events: A non-refundable retainer specified during checkout or in your proposal is required to hold your event date.
Portraits, Headshots & Creative Sessions: A non-refundable deposit or full session payment is required at booking depending on the session type selected.
No date is officially reserved until the required retainer is paid in full and any applicable photographic agreement is executed. Until payment is processed, dates remain available to other clients on a first-come, first-served basis.
Any remaining balance for weddings or events must be paid in full prior to or on the date specified in your booking agreement (typically 14 to 30 days prior to the event date).
For portrait sessions and individual headshots, final balances must be settled prior to or on the day of the shoot, before high-resolution digital image galleries are delivered.
Payment Methods: All online payments, deposits, and invoice settlements are processed securely through PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways (such as Stripe or Square).
Currency: All fees are listed and charged in U.S. Dollars (USD).
Processing Fees: Payments processed online via credit card, debit card, or electronic transfer may be subject to standard merchant processing fees where permitted by applicable law.
Client Cancellation: If you cancel your session or event, all retainers and deposits paid are non-refundable, as they reserve exclusive time on our calendar and prevent us from taking other client bookings.
Rescheduling: Requests to reschedule a portrait or headshot session must be made at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled time. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new date within our availability. Rescheduling fees or a new retainer may apply for last-minute changes or peak season weekend bookings.
Refund Policy: Detailed terms regarding cancellations, weather postponements, and refunds are outlined in our dedicated Refund Policy.
Under United States copyright law, LensCrafted (Shawn) retains full, exclusive ownership and copyright of all photographs, original raw files, digital negatives, and artistic works created during any session or event.
Upon full payment of your session fee, LensCrafted grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, print, download, and share your final edited images for personal, non-commercial purposes:
Personal Use: You may print images for personal display and share them on personal social media accounts.
Commercial & Business Usage: For Headshots & Branding or Commercial sessions, a specific commercial license will be issued detailing permitted business uses (e.g., website headers, advertising materials, printed marketing collateral). Images from personal portrait or wedding sessions may not be sold, licensed, or submitted to commercial entities without express written consent.
Prohibition on Alterations: To protect the artistic integrity of our work, clients may not re-edit, apply heavy social media filters, crop out watermarks (where applicable), or alter final delivered files.
Punctuality: Sessions will begin and end at the scheduled times. If you arrive late, your session time may be reduced accordingly without a fee reduction.
Cooperation & Posing: While we provide guided direction and simple prompts to help you feel comfortable, we are not responsible for uncooperative subjects (e.g., young children or event guests) or restricted venue conditions that limit photographic opportunities.
Permits & Venue Fees: Clients are responsible for acquiring and paying for any required photography permits, admission fees, or venue location fees for chosen shoot locations across New England and New York City.
Editing & Selection: LensCrafted retains full artistic control over image selection, editing style, and retouching. Unedited raw files are never delivered under any circumstances.
Delivery Timelines: Estimated turnarounds are 2–3 weeks for standard portrait and headshot sessions, and 4–8 weeks for full wedding galleries, unless otherwise stated during peak seasons.
Gallery Hosting: Final edited images are delivered via a password-protected online gallery available for a specified duration (typically 60 to 90 days). Clients are responsible for downloading and backing up all digital files before the gallery link expires.
Archiving: While we maintain internal backups of delivered work for a reasonable period, LensCrafted is not liable for lost or corrupted files after the gallery delivery period has ended.
Equipment Failure & Technical Issues: In the unlikely event of total failure of cameras, memory cards, or equipment, or if photos are lost or damaged without fault on our part, LensCrafted’s total liability shall be strictly limited to a refund of all monies paid by the client for that specific session.
Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations due to causes beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, severe weather, natural disasters, national emergencies, travel closures, or sudden illness/injury of the photographer. In such events, best efforts will be made to reschedule or provide an equivalent replacement photographer.
